DAVID JUNKIN & LEGION MAGAZINE wins a gold at the prestigious National Magazine Awards for the article Lest We Forget: The Shocking Crisis Facing Our Wounded Veterans
Staff Writers Sharon Adams and Adam Day took home the top prizes in the Service: Health & Family and Investigative Reporting categories. Adams also earned an Honourable Mention in the Service: Health & Family category.
Adams’ feature story, Lest We Forget: The Shocking Crisis Facing Our Wounded Veterans, was published in the March/April 2013 issue of Legion Magazine illustrated by DAVID JUNKIN. Adams travelled across the country to interview veterans suffering from operational stress injuries. She met veterans “hot with anger” as well as those who have reclaimed peace of mind.
The gala awards night was held Friday night, June 6, at Toronto’s historic Carlu theatre. In each of the categories, Legion Magazine faced some very tough competition from highly respected publications.
Here are the pieces once again, we’re so incredibly proud of David & Legion, this is by far my most favorite works by David & the medal is rightfully deserved for this incredible article.
