Here’s a great few pieces for a dark subject by GONÇALO VIANA for Expresso. The art was commissioned for an article about the only existing shelter for male former forced labourers – modern slaves – in Portugal. Often homeless men that were picked up from the street, stripped of their liberty and forced to work without pay in Portugal and Spain, often in agriculture. They now try to relearn how to live in their newfound freedom.
