Irene Servillo | Language Choice For Futura

June 12, 2017    Irene Servillo

We’re excited to finally share this beautiful piece by IRENE SERVILLO for Futura (Corriere della Sera Newspaper Newsletter). The article’s title is ”Language choice” by journalist Maria Luisa Agnese. It’s a story about Teresa Cremisi, editor and writer, who grew up in Egypt, then moved to Milan and then moved again to Paris. As a child Teresa could speak Arabic, Greek, Italian and French. The article is about language and identity, and how tightly those two things are connected, it reflects on how choosing to speak one language among many can modify a voice and even shape and define one own’s identity. This is definitely one that hits home that I’ll have to translate! 🙂
