This was an interesting assignment for MICHAEL BYERS for St. Louis Magazine. He enjoyed the challenge but definitely didn’t enjoy the subject matter and was almost sick to his stomach when reading about this dark time in 1917 with the race riots in East St. Louis. It’s another eye opening moment in history that reminds us to just love one another and treat EVERYONE with love and the respect we’d want for ourselves.
