Mike Byers | Proudly Featured In Communication Arts Fresh Today 01/24/2011!

January 24, 2011    Michael Byers

Levy Creative Management artist MICHAEL BYERS is proudly featured on today’s Communication Arts FRESH! A fine choice if we may say so ourselves for this feature of Fresh! When I talk to clients and tell them that I’d love to clone my artists, Michael Byers is certainly top of our list! I can’t think of a more grateful, more hard working and dedicated person both personally and professionally. He’s like sunshine in a bottle always willing to go the extra mile in whatever he does. It’s because of Mike’s talent and his amazing attitude and wonderful personality that has gotten him where he is in the field of illustration today. Nothing makes me happier then seeing him check off all his “wish list” of clients, one at a time, all while adding more by the day — all while evolving his book and creating spectacular art. Congrats on being featured Mike, so well deserved!

Duration: I’ve been drawing since I was a little boy. I apparently used every pad of paper in my grandmother’s house turning each one into a simple animation. I started illustrating professionally after I graduated art school a little over three years ago.

Staff: It’s me, and my incredibly hard working rep Sari at Levy Creative.

Education: I received a Bachelor of Applied Arts in illustration from Sheridan Institute in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Cultural Influences: Men’s fashion, colors, movies, comics, my friends, music, good design, TEDTalks, books, antiques, advertising from the fifties and sixties, great typography, etc.

Environment: My work is done in the cozy studio in my apartment. I live with my fiancée, and our two cats, in the small city of Guelph, Ontario, close to my favorite coffee shop and a wonderful art store.

Philosophy:I try not to take life too serious, so that I can seriously live. Also like my grandfather has said, “The harder you work, the luckier you become.”
