I’m really loving how RORY KURTZ pulled this illustration together for a really interesting piece on rap artists and lyrics. This piece called “The Rap Bias” was done for Orange Coast Magazine. “The Rap Bias: Can a fondness for violent rap or hip-hop lyrics cost you in the courtroom? A Q&A with UC Irvine criminology professor Charis Kubrin, who talks about her research into how American jurisprudence regards African-American hip-hop artists and fans (on the eve of the release of the film “Straight Outta Compton”).
