The theme-park war between Disney and Universal is entering a new phase with #lcmartist Ryan Johnson & The Wall Street Journal, and for the first time Universal could gain the upper hand. Universal Studios is set to open a third theme park in Florida, Epic Universe, next year, cementing its Orlando resort as a destination in its own right. “Smaller rival Universal is expanding its parks, mobilizing Harry Potter, Super Mario and an army of Minions to steal away Disney World visitors.” Families may soon start spending more time at Universal’s theme parks and less at Disney’s—flipping the script on Orlando vacations.
