This was an amazing story that MIKO MACIASZEK got to illustrate for Sports Illustrated. The article called “Famous Last Words” is about the writer William Nack & featured in SI’s The Lives They Led column. Before William Nack passed away in April, “the Dean of Turf Writers and longtime SI scribe was working on a memoir that included his recollections of the race that inspired his lifelong love of the sport – The 1958 Kentucky Derby.” This is an amazing story & the illo that goes along with it is merely perfection! Huge thanks to Stephen over at SI who gave Miko this golden opportunity. As always a pleasure to work with you — and as always the art simply speaks for itself — definitely a beauty!
