For those of you who are curious to know where the Indiana State Seal comes from, read on with this fun piece for Indianapolis Monthly illustrated by #lcmartist Ryan Johnson. We’ve even included the actual seal below which has been around since the 1800’s. The official template features a sun setting over a series of hills with a man chopping a tree and a bison jumping a fallen trunk. Despite several attempts to change the seal, including a sun rise vs. a sunset, it has remained the same.
